Building Character - Devotional from Jan 20/09

I didn't get this one up, yesterday, so I'm posting it here. It fits so well with our theme this week.

People with integrity have firm footing, but those who follow crooked paths will slip and fall. Proverbs 10:9 (NLT)

Wise mothers teach the importance of character. Character doesn't spring up overnight; it grows gradually over a lifetime. It is the sum of every right decision, every honest word, every noble thought, and every heartfelt prayer. Character is a precious thing--difficult to build but easy to tear down; wise mothers value it and protect it at all costs...and they encourage their children to do the same.

Are you serious bout teaching your children the importance of integrity, through both your words and your deeds? Of course you are. And so is God. So here's the challenge: Consider God to be your partner as you teach your children. Then, with no further delay, let the character building begin...today.

Don't mistake personality for character. (Wilma Askinas)
